Boulogne Walks

Where to Stay Where to Eat

Sea Green Walk (1.6km distance - allow 30 minutes) start by walking down the Quai Chanzy, turn left across the Pont Marguet and back up the Quai Gambetta and Quai des Paquebots to Nausicaä which is the French National Sealife Centre.

Purple Walk (1.6km distance - allow 30 minutes plus) start by walking down the Quai Chanzy, turn left across the Pont Marguet. This is the direct route to the gate of the Old Town. Proceed up the gentle hill that is the Rue Faidherbe and turn right towards the main gate via the Rue d'Artois.

Orange Walk (0.75km distance - allow 40 minutes) start by walking down the Quai Chanzy, turn left across the Pont Marguet. This route takes you on the gastronomic route to the Old Town via the Place Dalton. Twice a week there is a market in the square and you may wish to allow extra time for this. Proceed along the Grande Rue to the main gate of the Old Town.

The Old Town is a "must go to" destination. It is surrounded by its ancient walls enclosing both the cathedral and chateau. In the centre is a passage of restaurants and bars that you will find are most inviting - but, if you stop, allow over an hour to reach the ferry terminal for check in on your journey back to Folkestone.
