Linking with Boulogne

The fast ferry project is not being undertaken by the Remembrance Line but by other consultants in France and the UK.

We are aware of a need to dredge a passage to No 3 Berth which is closest to the railway.

Because there is no link span at Folkestone, initial ferry crossings will be passenger only but there are future prospects for including cars at a later date.

There is of course an interface between the provision of a fast ferry and boat trains to be operated by the Remembrance Line. This happens with regard to provision of a good passenger processing solution at the port and eventually with both commercial products and communications between the businesses.

At this stage we have some knowledge regarding how the port processes will work but the provision of check-in, border controls and safe port handling will be down to the ferry business.
